Home Sales Rise in February

Toolbox

We were seeing increased numbers of homes going under contract in our local offices, and the same increase in sales has been reported from around the state of Florida and now the National Association of Realtors is reporting that nationwide sales were up in February.

Undoubtedly lower home prices (as shown in the chart below) and the concerns of tightened lending have been bringing buyers out. This is apparently not just a Florida phenomenon, although locally, the new portability and doubled homestead exemption has made it easier for property owners to make a move inside the state.

The median home price for February in Palm Beach County was $344,600

More buyers are out, and it’s a good sign! A slight up-tick since the first of the year to the median home price statistic is also a good trend.
