The ideas are flying like crazy in Tallahassee… unfortunately our legislators are all over the board with their ideas, and some have been dredging up old battered ones in hopes that they will perhaps fly below the radar or get passed before a proper analysis is done.

The Property Appraiser’s office has mailed the 2007 notice of proposed property taxes to Palm Beach County homeowners. Not only have many taxing authorities, such as the county, proposed a reduction in their budgets, but you may find that the market value listed by the property appraiser has been reduced too.

By popular demand, the Florida legislature has finally put together a package that should alleviate the huge differences in taxes caused by the Save Our Homes amendment to Florida’s Constitution.

The news item forwarded to me stating the legislature may do away with property taxes and raise our state sales tax didn’t seem to make sense. Just how would that help?
