Video Production Notes

You may already have a home camcorder and wonder how my videos are produced.

Your video will be produced using professional equipment and software. Videography is done with a Panasonic DVX100B DV-Pro camera on a Steadicam Merlin stabilizer. Video is shot in NTSC 30p and edited with Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, and Adobe Encore. Music tracks, DVD elements, and effects are produced from professional quality royalty-free music and effects libraries from Digital Juice. When lighting or audio is needed, a Lowel professional portable lighting kit and studio quality hyper-cardioid condenser microphone are used.

I don’t use HD equipment simply because it’s not necessary for web video and DVD. What’s important is the quality of the video. And that starts with the capabilities of the camera and editing software. Although some video sharing sites have limitations on video resolution and their compression methods can make motion videos look poor, the bandwidth and quality is improving. The videos here on my site are generally better quality and I will continue to make these videos look as good as the original.
