Roger grew up in Canada, and he and his wife Carmen transferred to Florida in 1995 when Motorola’s Paging division in Boynton Beach asked him to organize their new website.
Always Learning
At Motorola, Roger initiated, developed, and managed the first company web site, and divisional web sites for the Wireless Data and Paging groups within the company. He also created online marketing materials and product demonstrations, and was instrumental in organizing the initial Motorola web site teams. With product experience in the Wireless Data field, he applied his web experience to this technology and was awarded a U.S. and international patent for an invention that was a precursor to today’s web access from wireless phones.
Roger also developed applications for some of Motorola’s innovative wireless devices, and was involved in generating developer and industry acceptance for the products. One of Roger’s demonstration applications allowed pager users to track the progress of hurricanes on a map. Developed to generate publicity for a wireless trade show in Orlando, the attention garnered was more than anticipated when hurricane Georges threatened South Florida and forced many of the show attendees to leave early.
Roger’s experience also included presenting and educating customers during the pre-sales process, working with customers to define needs and develop technical specifications to meet those needs, negotiating with vendors, researching the current and future aspects of technology, competitive product analysis, software project management, trade show and exhibit planning, and development of a software developer support strategy. He handled support issues, resolved problems with difficult and frustrated customers, and cooperated with staff around the globe to meet the needs of the organization.

Not one to shy away from something new, Roger met every new challenge and opportunity head on, and gained additional valuable experience from every new situation.
Roger obtained an Executive Masters degree in Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Miami, by attending classes on Saturdays for two years while working full time at Motorola. He says the education enriched his experience and knowledge, and he applies it every day. He’s proud of the 3.965 grade point average, and the fact that he always earned “A” grades.
He Understands Florida Living
Living in Florida, Roger has knowledge of the communities in the Central Palm Beach County area. He resides on the shore of Lake Osborne, and enjoys wakeboarding and bass fishing. Local residents enjoy his backyard chickens and roosters.
He’s been a condo association board member, and owned a condominium, a new construction home in a zero lot line neighborhood, and a resale wood frame home on a 1/2 acre waterfront lot. He’s also obtained county permits and constructed his own deck, dock, and chicken house. Home ownership, he says, is always interesting.
Roger’s real estate experience extends to the mortgage industry, where he originated mortgages for two years. During that time, he supported both real estate professionals and their buyers, and from this perspective he understands the lending process and associated issues.
